VUDA City Central Park, Shivaji Park, Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, Kambalakonda Eco-Tourism park. Mudarsarlova Park, Simhachalam Temple. Gokul Park, Childrens Park, RK beach, Matyadarshini Aquarium, Submarine Museum, Visakha Museum, Vuda Park, Lawsons bay beach, Lumbini park, VUDA Health Arena at foot hills of kailasagiri, Tenneti park, Kailasagiri, Telugu museum atop kailasagiri, Sagarnagar beach, Yendada Beach, Rushikonda Beach, Bavikonda buddhist heritage site, Thotla konda buddhist complex, Thotlakonda Beach, Mangamaripeta Beach, Red sand dunes, Bheemili beach, Bheemili Light house, Pavurala Konda buddhist place.
Government should try to provide more facilities and also develop the above tourist places, which will increase the number of tourists to the Visakhapatnam Smart City and also increase the revenue in the tourism sector.
Vizag Smart City attracted 1.15 crore Tourists during the year 2015, out of this around 1.14 crore Domestic and 69,483 Foreign Tourists. To attract more number of toursts, Sea Tourism, Heli Tourism, Seaplane Tourism can be introduced.
Cultural programmes like Kacheris - traditional singing, Cinema Music, Traditional dances, Exhibition of products manufactured in our villages like Etikoppaka toys, Magic programs etc to be conducted on every Saturday/Sunday at beach road to attract tourists.
For Attracting the International/National tourists, Government should give licenses to run Casinos offshore / onshore, Pubs, 24 hours running Hotels, Restaurants & Bars and also the Tourism department should develop beaches in Vizag Smart City by providing facilities such as beach side Chairs, Restaurants and also Para-sailing, Water sports etc.
Vizag also needs an amusement park or water park. That a city of 20 lakh population with tourist arrivals of 80-90 lakhs per annum should have an amusement park and water-theemed parks.
Every tourism spot needs to have basic facilities such as public toilets and drinking water and also need to interconnect tourism spots by special buses.
27.06.2016 : The State Government Andhra Pradesh had drawn a master plan to develop famous hill shrine Simhachalam with good amenities and infrastrucutre at a cost of ₹ 162 cr. With the new facilities around 1 crore pilgrims can also be accommodated on the Hill Shrine.
27.06.2016 : As per the plan, around 5 zones to be developed. Fize zones that will be developed are Hilltop, Adavivaram, Pushkarini, foothill and sunday market. There are many invaluable herbs and medicinal plants on the Simhachalam hills and efforts will be put into conserve and preserve them.
Arrangements are being made for LED lights, construction of view point with 6.5 crores, 20 wooden cottages, conference hall etc., also developing USP for Lord Sri Varaha Lakshmi Nrusimhaswamy temple at Simhachalam.

Development of Kambalakonda Nature Park into an ideal destination for eco-tourism park.On a sprawling 7,146 hectares on National Highway 16 lies the Kambalakonda Wildlife Sanctuary. This reserve forest is one of the major green zones in the city, complete with green hills, forests and a reservoir. DFO said that World Bank has sanctioned Rs. 1.29 for development of Kambalakonda. With the funds, we plan to build a natural trekking path, circulation tanks, jetty, desilt the check dams, repair the river crossing unit or the ropeway, get new fibre boats and life jackets, ensure essential amenities for visitors, install a chained mesh around the park to prevent escape of deer or other animals and set up streetlights and fire-fighting equipment. 03.09.2016 : Stone set to Vysakhi Kala Tarangini Auditorium by HRD Minister, Mr. Ganta Srinivasa Rao and Panchayat Raj Minister, Mr. Ayyanna Patrudu - VUDA is deloping the Auditorium at a cost of Rs. 32.5 crore and the construction is expected to be completed within 18 months from now. Vysakhi Kala Tarangini Auditorium will come up in an extent of 1.49 acres adjacent to Rythu Bazaar in MVP Colony. It will have 3 convention halls, mini amphi theatre, mini out door theatre and shopping arena. Facility is also being created to park about 100 cars and 200 two wheelers. Ravindra Bharati-like cultural complex to be built by VUDA on 1.6-acre site in MVP Colony beside Rythu Bazaar with a seating capacity of 1500 seats. HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said a landmark auditorium with a cost of Rs.30 crore would come up at MVP Colony, making the city a cultural hub.
As per the latest development, Govt handed over the responsibility to APIIC, GVMC and VUDA officials to assess the estimated cost and the officers estimated that Rs. 500 crores required for construction of International Convention Center with 3,000 seating capacity, 5 star hotel, Exhibition halls, Commercial complex. The distance from Airport to the proposed Convention center is 12 Kms and from the Railway station is 3 kms only and it is also nearer to the sea coast.
Infrastructure Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited (INCAP) invited Request for Proposal (RFP) for development of Convention Centre at Madhurawada on PPP basis (International Competitive Bidding) - Bid Due Date - 3PM on 28.10.2016.
Request for Proposal notification for Mega Convention Centre Project over 70-100 acres area with a seating capacity of 5,000, near Madhurawada. Salient features of the mega convention center project are, an exhibition center, Five star hotel, shopping mall with multiplexes, leisure facilities or amusement park and food courts.
In order to promote the growth of the Hospitality sector and Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, Exhibitions (MICE) under tourism industry in the state, and thereby to give an impetus to the local economy, it is envisaged to develop a Convention Center in Visakhapatnam Smart City.

28.03.2016 : Renovation of Gurajada Kalakshetram Open Air Auditorium. The project being taken up by Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority with an outlay of Rs. 5.7 crore would help make it the choice of venue for cultural programmes.
For Sea Tourism, Passenger Jetties to be constructed at Fishing Harbour, Bheemili, Yarada to operate Small Luxury Ships / Cruise Ships. Vizag Port Trust has a proposal to construct the Cruise Terminal at Bhimili at an estimated cost of Rs 300 crore.
For development of Sea Tourism, Small luxury Ships to be introduced. These luxury ships to be operated from Fishing Harbour / Bheemili Jetty, which will run between Bheemili - Fishing Harbour - Yarada. The operators of these small luxury ships should provide restaurant, music, games etc in the Ship.
Small Cruise ships can be introduced to places like Kakinada Hope Island, Kalingapatnam beach, tourists can leave in the morning and return by evening spending time on the high seas. This will give tourists the experience of going on a cruise. These cruise ship operators provide restaurant, casino, music, games etc in the cruise for entertainment of the tourists.
Cruise liners will be operated between Vizag to Andaman & Vizag to Singapore.
Ms. Chandralekha Mukherjee said that most awaited and longterm dream of equipping Vizag - Araku scenic route with vistadome coaches most likely to be realized by December,2016, to facilitate the operation of a vistadome coaches, the platforms also need a lot work, which is under process. The specially designed transparent acrylic coach enables passengers to see all dimensions of nature from the comfort of their seats, which would attract more tourists to Araku valley. The train line passes through 84 bridges and 58 tunnels.

25.08.2016 : MoU signed for heli-tourism - Chopper services to be operated from Dasara - Paving the way for starting of helicopter tourism from Dasara, VUDA and Sky Choppers Logistics Private Limited signed an MoU here on Wednesday in the presence of HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao. The HRD Minister said the agency would be allotted 1.95 acres of land on lease for construction of helipad and three rooms at VUDA Park to operate the services in lieu of payment of Rs.50,000 a month to VUDA. VUDA secretary A. Srinivas and Chandrasekhar of the agency signed the MoU. Two packages - one covering Kailasagiri to Bhimunipatnam and second covering Agency areas of Araku and Lammasingi would be offered. The fare and modalities will be worked out by VUDA and the agency. The passengers will have an insurance cover of Rs.10 lakh.
Sky Choppers Logistics Private Limited has entered into an MOU with Govt. of Andhra Pradesh for providing Heli-Tourism services in Vizag Smart City. First phase, they operate from Vuda Park to Kailasagiri and to Araku Valley, it will take 5 minutes from VUDA park to Kailasagiri and 20 minutes from VUDA Park to Araku valley, maximum seating capacity is 5 passengers.
According to Mr. Chandrasekhar, Business Development Director, Sky Choppers, Heli-Tourism in the city will be inaugurated soon.

Helicopters either based at VUDA Park would carry the tourists to Kailasagiri and Araku Valley and give them an aerial view of some of the important tourist spots in the district.

01.12.2016 : IIT team to conduct EIA studies. It will suggest location of the ship on the coast in the city. A decision has been taken to rope in the services of a team of experts from IIT Madras to get an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) done for stationing of the INS Viraat on the Visakhapatnam coast, according to District Collector Pravin Kumar. The Collector held a review meeting with the stakeholders on the stationing of INS Viraat here on Wednesday. VUDA Vice Chairman T. Baburao Naidu, GVMC Commissioner N. Harinarayanan, representatives of the Indian Navy, National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Visakhapatnam Port, Department of Meteorology and Oceanography of Andhra University and KPMG consultants participated in the meeting. Mr. Pravin Kumar said that once the location was finalised, further measures could be taken for the early completion of the project.
18.09.2016 : INS Viraat likely to be in Vizag by early or middle 2017 - The aircraft carrier is to be decommissioned by this year-end.The iconic aircraft carrier, INS Viraat, is likely to be brought to the city by early or middle of the next year, Vice-Admiral H.C.S. Bisht, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Naval Command, said.
23.02.2016 : The Department of Tourism has begun the ground work to bring INS Viraat, the aircraft carrier of the Indian Navy, to Visakhapatnam as a tourist attraction. It is learnt that CRISIL, the AP Government, and the Navy are working on a feasibility report on the tourism project. The 24,000-tonne worlds oldest aircraft carrier is all set to be decommissioned in June this year, and it is likely to be handed to the Andhra Pradesh Government at a price of Re. 1 for converting it into a 500-room luxury hotel.
Proposal is being made to convert INS VIRAAT War Ship, which will be decommissioned very soon, into a Hotel, Museum on Vizag Smart City Sea Coast near Tenneti park beach / Jodugullapalem beach / Lawsons bay beach.

To bring this Warship from the sea to the Coast is very difficult and expensive, therefore, Govt has appointed Crisil to estimate the total expenditure to be incurred for this activity. If everything is going well, this will be materialised within a period of 6 months.
