15.02.2018 - Tower A of Millennium Towers should be up and running by March-end, 2018: APIIC. Nestled amidst verdant hills of Eastern Ghats on one side and the blue waters of the Bay of Bengal on another, the work on the iconic Millennium Tower - the new address for IT units in Visakhapatnam, is nearing completion. "We are working at a fast pace to complete the first phase of Tower A and parking for Tower A and B by end of the financial year," APIIC zonal manager C. Yathi Raju told The Hindu. While construction of three cellar-parking extending 1.5 lakh sft for both towers has been completed, the tower A will have a built-up area of two lakh sft. Tower B construction will be taken up later with a built-up area of one lakh sft.
16.02.2017 - Work is under progress - Millennium Tower to be ready by January, 2018. It will have 2,00,000 sq.ft. of built-up space for allotment to plug-and-play operators. Cyclone-resistant Internet of Things-enabled Millennium Tower, work on which is progressing at a brisk place at the sea-facing Rushikonda hills, will become an iconic superstructure and showcase Visakhapatnam as the IT capital of 'Navya Andhra Pradesh.'
Being executed by the AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) and funded by the Information and Communication Technology Department of Andhra Pradesh, the construction of the building will be completed by September. Excluding cost for the four acres on which it is coming up, Rs. 180 crore is being spent on construction.
"Work on construction is progressing in a fast-tract mode and we are confident of making it a landmark to promote IT in Visakhapatnam with focus on start-ups and companies specialising in financial technologies and new-age technologies such as blockchain, IoT, cloud computing, and cyber security," V. Srinivasa Moorthy, CEO of AP Electronics and IT Agency (APEITA) told. The APEITA is an autonomous agency promoted by the government with its headquarters at the Cyber Valley, Rushikonda.
The Millennium Tower will have 2,00,000 sq.ft. of built-up space for allotment to plug-and-play operators. In addition, it will have 1,50,000 sq.ft. of space for parking. Under the ambitious project located close to the Sunrise Incubation Hub, two towers will come up. The first is expected to be completed by June/July.

10.09.2016 - Work begins for Millennium Tower at Hill No. 3 in IT SEZ, Madhurawada. The APIIC had set a target to complete the works of the tower by August, 2017. In the first phase, around 2 lakh sft space will be available to allot for IT companies and subsequently in the next phase, another 1 lakh sft will be added to the Millennium Tower.
APIIC has invited an e-tender for the construction of Millennium Tower at Plot No. 16 & 17 (in 4 acres) at Hill No.3, IT SEZ, Madhurawada. Approximate value of the tender is 86.80 crore and the period of the work is 15 months and the last date of tender submission is 23.04.2016.
18.03.2016 : According to an IT department official, the Millenium Tower project at Hill 3 in Rushikonda will provide around 3 lakh sft to companies planning to set up offices in the Port City. "The Millenium Tower will be built on Plot No 16 and 17 of Hill 3 and it will be a government-constructed building for IT companies. This will be a permanent tower and is meant for IT companies focussing on Vizag as an IT destination," the official said, adding that the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) has prepared the request for proposal from interested parties for construction of the building.
The IT Department will have five floor tower to be named Millennium Tower with three lakh sft space that will come up in a four-acre land adjacent to the Madhurawada IT SEZ Incubation Tower. The first two floors will be for start-up units and the rest of three floors will be allotted for companies.
18.05.2017 - Nearly two years after the proposal to develop an IT layout was mooted by the state government, development work on the first-of-its-kind IT layout in the state has started at Kapuluppada.
Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) sources said the first phase of the project comprising an area of around 250 acres has been taken up for development at Kapuluppada. Sources said while the overall area earmarked for the IT cluster is around 1,350 acres, APIIC will initially focus on laying approach roads, installing streetlights and marking the plots for the integrated IT layout in order to attract tech firms to set up shop in the port city. "We are developing the Kapuluppada IT layout in a phased manner. We have started work on phase one on 250 acres. We will be laying the approach road and internal roads along with the streetlights and drains. The estimated cost is around Rs 20 crore," an APIIC official said. He said the total plotted area is around 150 acres and the remaining 100 acres will be a common green area for layiout. "We are expecting around 30 plots to be developed in the 150 acres," he said.
24.03.2017 - IT,E&C Dept of Govt.of Andhra Pradesh has issued a GO RT.No. 19 Dated: 20-03-2017 regarding sanction and release of Rs. 24,60,00,000/- for releasing payment to Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd (APIIC Ltd) to take up the development of Infrastructure in IT layout Phase along with provision of external and internal infrastructure facilities like improvements to approach roads, provision of drinking water etc.
10.09.2016 - IT Park layout okayed at Kapulauppada in Vizag. APIIC has finalised the layout pattern of the IT Park proposed at Kapulauppada. In the first phase, development will be done in 250 acres of the total 1750 acres of land available at Kapulauppada.

17.10.2017 : ANSR to set up major facility in city. Cabinet clears allotment of 10 acres for Rs. 500-cr. project. Lalith Ahuja's ANSR Consulting will invest Rs. 500 crore over six years to transform Visakhapatnam into a world-class destination for global in-house centres (GIC) at sea-facing Rushikonda. The State Cabinet cleared the proposal to allot 10 acres of land to the leading consulting company, which has a huge facility in Bengaluru. The land was earlier earmarked for construction of Signature Tower which was subsequently dropped. The company has agreed to provide job opportunities for 5,000 people by constructing a built-up area of five lakh square feet and setting up an accelerator. A special purpose vehicle will be formed soon to implement the project by ANSR Consulting. In lieu of land, the government will have equity in the project. As part of the project, an accelerator, hotel and a multiplex will come up in phases.INSR Consulting set up in 2004 has so far established 27 GICs. It has the backing of Accel Partners and Infosys for promoting startup-driven innovation. "The commitment to establish a 5,000-seater GIC in the city is a significant achievement in transforming Visakhapatnam into an IT and innovation hub," Tirumala Chamalla, CEO (Promotions) of AP Electronics and IT Agency (APEITA), an autonomous society formed by the government, told The Hindu. The CEO of APEITA said initially it would be allotted a 100-seater space by APEITA for incubation as the construction time for the project at Rushikonda would be 18 months. Mr. Tirumala said the project would provide jobs in technology, analytics and business.
IT Minister, Mr. Nara Lokesh to instruct the concerned officials to repair the 100 feet road from Midhilapuri VUDA Colony to IT SEZ Junction beach road and also construction of median, development of greenery on the median, construction of footpaths. Recently installed Central LED lighting system. Also provide a CCTV surveillance system in IT SEZ Area, police check post, transportation facility, bus shelters, canteen facility.
AP IT Minister, Mr. Lokesh Nara to instruct the concerned officials of GVMC/VUDA/APIIC to provide LED street lights on the hill top road of the hill no.1, APIIC IT Park, Rushikonda. Employees are facing a very horrible situation during night time. Approximately 400 employees are working in Miracle Heights and another company Fluentgrid office is under construction.
